1 Down

2001158312

My butter cream class is done! Yay! Thats one class down and three to go.

Next up is fondant & royal icing classes. I've decided I want to tackle classes 2 & 3 in the same month, should be exciting. I guess I'm a little impatient.

Penzu

I like to keep a journal, it mostly contains boring day-to-day stuff. As I grow older I find my memory isn't what it was, so those day-to-day boring entries help me remember.

I've been keeping an online journal for years, last I checked I had over 600 entries. Unfortunately the place I use - Momolog doesn't have an Android app, so I've been looking for a replacement and I've been failing miserably!

Oh Android has plenty of diary/journalling programs, but I've been looking for one that will let me import my over 600 prior entries, journal online (in a browser window) and have an Android app so I can make entries on the fly.

I've checked at least 10 different servies, SpringPad, Evernote, Tumblr, My Diary, LiveJournal, Memories, etc etc, some of them are great, but most don't have an import feature, which is a deal-breaker (In the words of Liz Lemon).

Long story longer, I finally found Penzu, which I think will work well for me. It's got a nice interface, an Android app and most importantly import/export! Yay! I may continue my boring pontification about what I had for lunch of last Tuesday!

Anyway, here's a link if you wanna check it out. It's usually $19 a year, but the link will let you have it for almost $4 less (20% off). Plus I get an extension on my account for the referral. Win/win!

Sculpting

I've been trying my hand at sculpting in clay lately, making busts.

My first was a smallish elf looking person.

Then, I decided to go life size, for some reason it ended up looking a bit like George Bush. I didn't slip and score him enough so parts of his scalp popped off during the firing.

My third piece is another full size, he is still in the drying stage. While Singh it started developing some cracks along the seems, hopefully he wont break in the firing.

My latest piece is a half seize gargoyle. I used a different kind of clay, one more suited for sculpting, so hopefully I'll have less problems with cracking.

Salt & Pepper

Ive been working on a set of salt & pepper shakers in the shape of cats. I plan to make molds of them, so I can make multiple sets. I plan to paint them to look like different breeds of cats, maybe a few abstract ones add well.

Here they are in the green ware stage.

Joey Brooklyn's Famous Pizza

Joeybrooklyns

Even though they are a little slow on the delivery Joey Brooklyn's is worth the wait. So far I've tried pepperoni pizza, hot wings, chicken parm sandwich and calzones from them.

The pizza was big, greasy and delicious, just like you would expect for New York style pizza.

The chicken parmesan sandwich I wasn't that great unfortunately, the chicken seems chopped up and tasted like pre-cooked chicken they covered with some sauce and cheese. I'm going to skip it next time I order.

It was a pepperoni calzone and I was surprised to see they put a ricotta-type cheese inside along with the regular mozzarella and it was really good.

The “hot” wings aren't really that hot, I'd call them a solid medium which was the perfect spice-temp for me. Enough to make your lips tingle but you can wait to drink something till after your done eating your wings. If you like the vinegar style buffalo wings, these are for you.

I haven't been inside so I can't report on the restaurant itself, sorry!

I would definitely order from Joey's again.

Goodbye World of Warcraft!

Last night I cancelled my subscription to World of Warcraft. Even though I haven't played in around 5 months it felt weird and final when I clicked the cancel button. My husband and I have been playing it for so long, it was fun and we met a few really cool people who we continue to talk out of game.

However since I stopped playing, I found I had so much more time to devote to my hobbies like painting, sculpting and even learning to play an instrument. I'll miss my little pixel characters but I think my life will be richer without the time-sink that WoW is.

So goodbye Panica (My favorite!), Ermoon, Jilliana & Buffysummers!

Greatest hits montage of screen shots.

People Get Ready!

Ok, I know I said I wanted the Fender Deluxe P Bass Special but I've changed my mind. It's my prerogative

So yes, I've made it to a bass for grownups! I've still got my Mikro, but this big boy is now my go-to bass.

The P Bass is a very popular bass style mine is a reproduction of a model that orginally came out in 1958. I'm very excited! I've graduated past my beginner's bass. :-)

Sheesh

P153

My adorable little kitty apparently has gotten tired of me working on the computer. She plopped right down on my Waccom tablet halting all work.

Let the petting commence. If I try to move her she actually caterwauls. I guess it's time for a break...
